JOB DESCRIPTION: ACCOMPANIST
Bethany Covenant Church in Lyndhurst, Ohio, is seeking a piano accompanist with a heart for leading worship 1-2 Sundays per month to start, beginning as early as late January 2018, with the possibility of increasing to additional Sundays per month in May of 2018. Our small, but friendly and welcoming church would especially benefit from worship led by a follower of Jesus with a commitment to personal spiritual growth and formation.

Minorities are especially encouraged to apply.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides music on piano, or piano and organ at the Sunday morning worship service and other special services as arranged.
  • Accompanies the Music Team, which is currently a volunteer acoustic guitar, cello, and percussion driven vocal ensemble that leads contemporary, traditional, and gospel songs with the congregation. Rehearsals take place on Sunday mornings. Additional mid-week rehearsals are typically scheduled every other week.
  • Prints/copies/distributes/files music for each rehearsal/service, in coordination with the Music Team leader.
  • Accompanies special music, as arranged.
  • Available to attend quarterly Worship Team meetings, as arranged.
  • Works well with the Pastor, Worship Team Leader, Music Team Leader, Music Team, and congregation.
