Established in 1976, the Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation aims to encourage artists who have dedicated their lives to developing their art, regardless of their level of commercial success.

As part of this mission, the foundation is accepting applications for its Emergency Grant program, which is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified artists whose needs are the result of an unforeseen catastrophic incident and who lack the resources to meet that situation. One-time grants of up to $15,000 will be awarded to artists to provide assistance with a specific emergency, including fire, flood, or an emergency medical issue.

To be eligible, an artist in the disciplines of painting, sculpture, or printmaking must be able to demonstrate a minimum involvement of ten years in a mature phase of his or her work.

See the Gottlieb Foundation website for complete program guidelines and applications.
