CALL FOR ARTISTS

DEADLINE: January 24, 2019, with subsequent submission dates every 12 weeks thereafter.

Western Reserve Hospital, located in Cuyahoga Falls, is interested in enhancing the environment of the infusion rooms in their oncology department and are seeking inspiring art from local artists who may be currently battling an illness or a survivor.

The goal of this project is to share art among the affected community as a resource, inspiration, and celebration of survivorship. The art will be exhibited in the infusion rooms to enhance the treatment environment for current oncology patients and expose them to the healing nature of art. As a survivor or patient, artists will be able to share their story and inspiration to those currently receiving treatment at Western Reserve Hospital.

Artwork will be on a 12-week rotation in the oncology rooms with the public access community gallery area highlighting and identifying the works of the artists that are on display in the infusion rooms. Art may be for sale, and the artist will receive the full payment for their sales. Artists may be contacted directly for the sale of their art.

Contact the project curator Jessica Lofthus (herself@jessicalofthus.com) with any questions or to submit your work. Please let Jessica know if, in the event your work is not selected, you would like to be added to a list for future consideration. (Thank you!)

This community project is a partnership between Western Reserve Hospital, Collide: Cuyahoga Falls and ArtsNow of Summit County.
