The GIRLBOSS® Foundation awards one grant biannually to female entrepreneurs pursuing creative endeavors. Each grant beneficiary will receive project funding of $15,000, in addition to exposure through the GIRLBOSS® digital channels.

Eligibility

Grants are exclusive to female creative business owners in the worlds of design, fashion, music, and the arts. To be eligible, applicants must identify as female, US residents, that are or will be 18 years or older by the close of the submission window. Unfortunately we are currently unable to accept international applications.

The Selection Process

Our selection committee is formed from a group of Girlboss Media staff and led by Sophia Amoruso. The committee reviews all applications submitted within the period and judges each project based on the following criteria:

Demonstrates creativity + innovation in the specific field (30%)
Demonstrates business acumen + forward planning (30%)
Demonstrates financial need (30%)
Proposed timing, work plan, and budget are clear, detailed, and achievable within the next 12 months (10%)

Spring/Summer Submission Period
January 1, 2017 - June 30, 2017
Review Window: July 1 - July 31, 2017
Grants Awarded/Recipients Announced: August 15, 2017

Fall/Winter Submission Period
July 1, 2017 - December 31, 2017
Review Window: January 1 - January 31, 2018
Grants Awarded/Recipients Announced: February 15, 2018
