The Canton Museum of Art (CMA) seeks a Museum Education Intern.  This is a part time internship position responsible for researching, developing, implementing, and evaluating components relative to CMA’s education programming.  This position is in the Education Department, and reports to the Education Manager.  This internship offers the opportunity to work in the professional setting of a small museum and to gain a variety of experiences in an arts organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Create and implement educational programming for youth and adults programs
Research content related to CMA’s permanent collection and exhibitions
Prepare documents for museum and educational purposes as needed
Assist with setup and take down of educational materials/classroom space
Participate in CMA activities, events, meetings, and programs as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Open to all majors and graduates with relevant skill sets (Art Education majors preferred)
Must be self-motivated and follow instructions both written and verbal
General to advanced knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
Strong written, oral communications skills
Accomplishes tasks with a sense of urgency
Dependable, friendly, cooperative, organized

Timeframe:
Flexible and variable schedule in accordance with internship requirements (if applicable).
Interns are requested to volunteer approximately 10-20 hours per week for the length of 8-16 weeks.

Compensation:
This is an unpaid/volunteer internship.

Cover letter should explain your career goals, interest in art education and reasons for applying for a Museum Education internship with the Canton Museum of Art.
Spring Semester: Application due by January 8, 2017.  Internship will start January, 2017 and end in April 2017.
Summer Semester: Application due by May 7, 2017.  Internship will start May, 2017 and end in August 2017.
Fall Semester: Application due by September 11, 2017.  Internship will start September, 2017 and end in December 2017.

Arts & Culture Inclusion Council Presents: Representation Matters- Photography and Ad Spend
