Artist Panel for FRESH 2018 Juried Art Exhibition

Presented by Summit Artspace at Summit Artspace, Akron OH

Mar 22 2018
Artist Panel for FRESH 2018 Juried Art Exhibition

After last year’s intense reaction to the state of civil discourse, how will NEO artists see the world in their work? They sit down with Juror/artist Charles Beneke for a panel discussion during FRESH 2018.

Artists will be talking about what is on their minds and in their imaginations at a panel discussion, March 22, during the 14th Annual FRESH Juried Art Exhibition at Summit Artspace in Akron.

The panel goes from 7 to 8 pm in the main gallery of Summit Artspace on East Market, 140 E. Market St., Akron. It is free and open to the public. Interested persons are encouraged to reserve their seat by registering for the event at http://bit.ly/2BBUzlq.

With a reputation of celebrating new perspectives, FRESH challenges regional artists from Summit, Portage, Stark, Medina and Cuyahoga counties to take their art in new directions. Last year’s exhibition was charged with an intense reaction by the artists to the political environment in the United States.

The first place winner was a three-dimensional installation depicting aspects of a refugee’s life while other pieces communicated alarm about the environment and the state of civil discourse.
