Artist panel takes the long view of landscapes

Landscape artists talk about the geography of art and where their explorations take them. You are welcome to come, listen, discuss and question. Free event in the Summit Artspace Gallery.

Evolving Landscapes Juried Exhibition Artist Panel, March 20, 7 -8:30 PM
There will be a panel presentation Monday, March 20, at 7 pm, by the artists whose works are in the Evolving Landscapes exhibition which opened March 3. The event is free and open to the public.

The 50 works chosen for the exhibition by juror Alexandra Nicholis Coon, executive director of the Massillon Museum, deconstruct the evolving genre to include a cubist urban scene, views of moon and Milky Way and an artistic statement with the calculated use of plastic forest animals.

Summit Artspace challenged local artists to submit diverse representations of landscape art from both traditional and contemporary perspectives in a variety of media. The response was outstanding with nearly 100 artists submitting work. The exhibition runs until April 8.
