DESCRIPTION:            

Entries may be submitted into the following categories: Water Based Media, Oil Based Media, Dry Media, Mixed Media & 3-Dimensional Media. Please view the back of this prospectus for category descriptions and Juror information. All 2-D hanging work must be framed with screw eyes and wire (no saw tooth hangers).  Work must be under glass or Plexiglas if on paper. Maximum size:  38” X 38” FRAMED. No work may exceed the weight of 100 pounds and it must be able to fit through a standard door. Each category will have a First-Place Prize of $125, a Second-Place Prize of $50, a Third-Place Prize of $25 and up to three Honorable Mentions.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center’s (CVAC) 34th Annual Juried Exhibition is a national exhibition, meaning this is it open to all artist within the United States.

ENTRY FEE:

Members of CVAC:       $30 for up to two (2) entries

Non-Members of CVAC:    $35 for up to two (2) entries

RULES:

All works shall be labeled with the artist’s name, address, email address, phone number, title and cost. If an image is not for sale please label it as such. After all entries have been received, a juried selection shall take place, dictating which images will hang in the show. If an entry is not selected, the artist will be contacted on Monday, OCT 9^th to pick-up their artwork. CVAC reserves the right to determine the acceptability of any work. Items not conforming to this prospectus will be automatically rejected. The jurors have the final say as to what category a submitted artwork belong within.

SHIPPING:

Shipments should be made in REUSABLE cartons.  All entries will be returned in the same cartons in which they were received.  Entries must meet post office and UPS regulations and unless otherwise specified, cartons will be returned UPS.  CVAC recommends the use of Plexiglass for shipping.  Please include a competed entry form, a check payable to CVAC to cover entry fees and a pre-paid shipping label for return shipping. Shipped entries will be returned in a timely fashion after the exhibition.

LIABILITY:

Artists must provide their own shipping insurance. Entries will be handled with all possible care, but the CVAC will not be responsible for loss or damage to submitted artwork from any cause whatsoever. Submission of artwork to this exhibition implies acceptance by the artist of all conditions set forth in this prospectus. CVAC is not responsible for abandoned artwork.

SALES:                          

A commission of 30% will be charged on all sales. Payments will be distributed to artists after the conclusion of the exhibition in a timely fashion. Purchases by private and corporate collectors will be strongly encouraged.

PUBLICITY:

The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center reserves the right to photograph participating artists and exhibited works for marketing purposes.
