Enjoy an evening of Latin Jazz from one of Northeast Ohio’s most recognized bandleaders, Sammy De Leon.

De Leon’s discography includes “Que Lindas Son Las Mujeres” with Orquesta Charambó (1985), “Un Nuevo Estilo” with Impacto Nuevo (1995), “Algo Para Ti” Roberto Ocasio Latin Project (1998), and “Sammy” with Sammy De Leon Orchestra (2003). He regularly mentors young musicians from Oberlin College who want to learn Latin music. His friends jokingly call his band “Sammy Salsa College” because his band has been a rite of passage for many upcoming players.

Downtown@Dusk concerts are held in the Akron Art Museum’s Bud and Susie Rogers Garden. In the event of inclement weather, concerts are held on the terrace, or moved to the museum lobby.
