Akron’s longest running “Anything Goes” open mic featuring music, monologues, improv and much more, returns Saturday, September 1st to “The Center” and invites performers and audiences across the spectrum of artistic genres to celebrate!

So, grab your best getup, the act you’ve been working on for a while, and get ready to party #EPCooker-style because… we’ve finally found a home!!!

That’s right! Missing since the days of the Blooming Basement Studios, the Electric Pressure Cooker Cabaret will once more have a regular spot for raucous nights of revelry and entertainment.

***Starting Saturday, September 1st, the #EPCooker will now regularly occur on the FIRST SATURDAY of every month at THE CENTER (118 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44303).***

ADMISSION INFO

$5 cover charge or pay-what-you-can at the door.

Audience members can pay their covers and artists can pre-register for a performance slot online at epcooker.com or via phone by calling 330.612.3090.

ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO:

Continued fundraising for the second half match of The Electric Pressure Cooker… presents Bigger than a Breadbox, (which returns to Akron this November), as well as maintaining this vibrant community event by compensating #EPCooker artists and team members.

Arts & Culture Inclusion Council Presents: Representation Matters- Photography and Ad Spend

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.

Nonprofit and for-profit leadership and marketing/communication professionals interested in learning about SEEN and participating in a conversation about the importance of authenticity and representation in our work.
