Expressive Journey: First 100 Days, Artists Respond; new show at Nine Muses April 28-June 10

It’s a new day in America and artists have a lot to say about the political landscape. Summit Artspace’s Nine Muses Gallery will be the local site of a national artistic coming together around the date of President Donald Trump’s first 100 days.

Opening April 28 at Nine Muses Art Gallery, Expressive Journey: The First 100 Days, Artists Respond will feature artists from Barberton and adjacent communities using their art to share their responses to national events following the inauguration of Donald Trump.

This event is sponsored by H.O.P.E. (Hope, Opportunity, Peace, Equality) in cooperation with Summit Artspace which operates the Nine Muses Art Gallery. The show runs until June 10.

Throughout history artists have shared their responses to events through their medium. By all accounts, the inauguration of Donald Trump was historic. Following that, his administration’s actions have been unprecedented. His supporters continue to support him and his detractors continue to object.
