Calling all zombies, witches, vampires, and ghosts! Following their recent sold-out appearance at BLU Jazz+, FunkyardX brings their soul-laced, groove-heavy funk, pop, rock, jazz & gospel sound back to BLU in a very special Halloween party not to be missed! Featuring Steve Johnson, Leon Turner, Larry Galloway, Jeremiah Napier, Chris George, John Turner, Willie McMillon, Matt Segal, Daniel Spearman, Richard Smith.

In the 70s and early 80s, funk, rock and pop dominated most dance floors. From artists like James Brown, Jimmy Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Roger & Zapp, Earth Wind & Fire, P Funk, Rick James to the Brothers Johnson; these artists inspired generation after generation.

The Funkyard Experiment emerged in 2013 by founder Steve Johnson. Creatively inspired by these pioneers, adding a twist of gospel, jazz and fusion, the Funkyard sought to create its own unique sound. Arts & Culture Inclusion Council Presents: Representation Matters- Photography and Ad Spend

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.
