Highland Square Film Festival Workshops

Presented by Highland Square Neighborhood Association at Highland Square Neighborhood Association, Akron OH

Jun 01 - 03 2018
Highland Square Film Festival Workshops

Telling Akron stories through a film festival of local amateur works.

Like New York is to Scorsese or Rome is to Fellini, Akron is to you. Setting is a crucial part of storytelling and we want to see your Akron tales. Whether you use the city in a starring role or as a supporting character, tell us your story. Show us our city. The Highland Square Film Festival is looking for films of five minutes or less to be considered for a one night event on September 29th from 7-10pm. Experienced filmmakers are welcome, but if you’ve never made a movie before, we will be offering workshops on integral elements of the process to ensure that your story does not go untold.

Workshops are free to attend. If you attend a workshop, your film submission fee will be waved. Choose the date that is best for you (June 1st or 3rd) and join our 3 part workshop with instructors, Chris Miller of The Akronist, Mary Mullane of Akron Film Collective and Blue Green from Around Akron with Blue Green, as they walk beginner film makers through the process of making your film.
