As part of Bath Township’s bicentennial celebration, Crown Point Ecology Center will host a fresh and inspired concert in the Century Barn, featuring Akron’s most celebrated trumpeter, Jack Schantz, and his jazz quartet. Vocals to be provided by Barbara Rosene.
As part of the original land owned by Bath Township founder Jack Hammond, Crown Point enjoys a rich historical connection to the surrounding community. This musical celebration of the bicentennial event will take place in the beautiful Crown Point Century Barn, and guests can enjoy its warm acoustics along with cocktails and hors d’oevres.
Jack Schantz currently serves as director for the University of Akron Jazz studies program and performs actively with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. His resume includes performances with Mel Torme, Sarah Vaughan, Tony Bennet, Cleo Laine, Jack Jones, Nancy Wilson and Diane Schuur.
