King Charles III

Presented by Ohio Shakespeare Festival at Ohio Shakespeare Festival, Greystone Hall, Akron OH

Apr 06 - 22 2018
King Charles III

*An Ohio Premiere* Prince Charles is finally made King in this “future history” play, written in the style of a Shakespearean drama–see the OHIO PREMIERE of Mike Bartlet’s award winning script.

Prince Charles has spent his entire life in a state of waiting.  But now, Queen Elizabeth II has passed away, and the erstwhile prince finally receives his chance to ascend the British throne. His idealism is put to the test almost immediately, and the popularity of Prince William and Kate proves threatening.  This Olivier award-winning script is written in the style of a Shakespearean history play, and will challenge the audience to wonder: is there room for idealism in the modern political world?

Fans of the Bard will love the iambic pentameter and Shakespearean-like plot.
