Let's Play Acting Out! (If You Give A Mouse A Cookie)

“If you give a mouse a cookie…”

Discover the adventure of one hungry mouse through storytelling, engaging games and imaginative reenactment!

Join Teaching Artist Kyle Jozsa as he guides children on an adventure straight out of their favorite storybook! From Eric Carle to Dr. Seuss, students will play games, hear stories and even create a short play based on the story-of-the-week.

Children acquire many skills from acting out stories. From oral language skills—vocabulary and narrative understanding—to social and emotional skills, dramatic play acts as the great enhancer.

Let’s Play! is a 50-minute class that utilizes theatrical concepts (such as: movement, voice, imagination, costumes, props) to facilitate physical, social & emotional development in your young performer. These classes are designed to encourage creativity and teach teamwork through the lens of play. Creative play allows young students to express themselves in a safe and open environment, as well as providing an excellent outlet for creativity, energy and fun! $10/Family (Up to 3 people including kiddos)
$5/Each Additional Person

Preregistration is encouraged at the museum or by calling 330.396.6103
Admission to the museum is only $5/person if you wish to come before or stay after.

PARKING INFO

Lock 3, located in the middle of downtown Akron, is surrounded by several parking decks and a surface lot. The decks include the Summit County Parking Deck on High Street, the O’Neil’s Parking Deck on State Street and the Cascade Parking Facility off of Mill Street. Surface lots are located on W. Bowery Street west of Main Street.

Arts & Culture Inclusion Council Presents: Representation Matters- Photography and Ad Spend

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.
