Join LGBT Akron Arts Fest and Akron Soul Train at The Nightlight Cinema Lounge for a special showing of REAL BOY, an intimate story of a family in transition.
As 19-year-old Bennett Wallace navigates early sobriety, late adolescence, and the evolution of his gender identity, his mother makes her own transformation from resistance to acceptance of her trans son. Along the way, both mother and son find support in their communities, reminding us that families are not only given, but chosen. View the trailer for REAL BOY: https://vimeo.com/134142788
The event will include light refreshments generously provided by Vaccaro’s. Purchase tickets online early as seating is limited.
LGBT Akron Arts Fest is generously supported by the Gay Community Endowment Fund of the Akron Community Foundation, Job Esau Perry, Attorney at Law, and State and Federal Communications, Inc.
