Likeness and emotional honesty are equally represented in the rich and meticulous pencil art of Aaron Burkett. Opening for Barberton 4th Friday at Nine Muses Art Gallery in Barberton. Runs until May 13.

Akron artist Aaron Burkett is staking his future on art that puts pencil to paper for an exhibition at Nine Muses Art Gallery opening March 24 for Barberton 4th Friday.

Lucid Life Experience is the name of his show that runs until May 13 in the Nine Muses Meeting Space Gallery. Visitors will see a display of meticulously drawn portraits and images which capture the spirit of the subject, especially the endearing portrait of Dr. Carl E. Krill that Burkett created for an award and the spiritual vision of praying hands.

Burkett studied drafting at Alliance High School and then went on to study fine arts at the University of Akron. He earned a degree in computer animation and multimedia design from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After years of working in northeast Ohio in the graphic and web design fields for companies like The Plain Dealer and American Greetings, he decided to go back to his passion of drawing with graphite.
