3D, 2D art stand out at Summit Artspace from June 2 to July 1! You might have to come back more than once to take in all of the perspectives you’ll find in the Ohio Collage Society’s 11th Annual Member’s Show at Summit Artspace on East Market.

The show opens with a free artist reception at the Summit Artspace gallery on June 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. Awards will be announced at 7 pm. Summit Artspace on East Market is located at 140 E. Market St., Akron.

The juried show includes 60 works representing a wide variety of collage and assemblage work in diverse styles. Collage and assemblage are artistic forms that incorporate the use of other materials and objects to create a new artwork.  The show runs until July 1.

Arnie Tunstall, director of University Galleries at the Myers School of Art of The University of Akron, is the judge. He will be selecting five award winners from the entries. He is an adjunct instructor at the Myers School of Art since 1995 and is currently teaching in the Arts Administration program at the university. He also served in curatorial and collections posts at the Akron Art Museum.

The exhibiting artists will participate in a panel discussion about their work on Thursday, June 8, 7 p.m., in the gallery. ... view more »
