Polymer Family Outreach Event

Presented by Akron Children's Museum at Akron Children's Museum, Akron OH

May 28 2017
Polymer Family Outreach Event

This is a free event for all museum visitors on Sunday, May 28. The event goes from 10:00-2:00 and is organized by the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering from The University of Akron.

A Polymer Family Outreach Event is an exciting new way to bring your community together. It’s an event where children and their families have the opportunity to explore several hands-on experimental lab stations. Each one of these creative labs is designed to provide science education in an engaging and memorable way. Participants discover what polymers are; that they encounter them every day; and that polymers have many unique characteristics and amazing properties. In short, Polymer Family Outreach Events are action-packed fun for the entire family!

The activities are designed for middle school age but most can be adapted so that they can be effective with younger children.
