Shanti Community Farms Hot Summer Celebration

Benefit for Shanti Community Farms to further the mission to enhancement and enrich the agricultural heritage of Akron’s new immigrants and refugees with Nepali foods, global music, hot pepper contest, bamboo splitting demos.

Join us for Shanti Community Farm’s second annual community celebration! This year it’s going to be REALLY HOT, active and fun!!

The evening will include a complimentary Nepali-style appetizers; various fun and skilled competitions including hottest pepper in Akron; hot pepper & momo eating competition; bamboo splitting contest; and snake gourd dart throw. Also, special cultural musical performances; new community garden and farmers market pre-event tours; information sharing on Shanti Community Farms’ as well as its partners’ programs and services, and more!

All proceeds from the event will directly support Shanti Community Farms’ mission to preserve agricultural heritage of new Americans and empower them to learn and earn from the local food movement.
