Sep 27 2018
She Served Too.

A silent art auction to benefit homeless female veterans.

Veteran Services of Family & Community Services is proud to bring the first ever female veteran housing facility to Summit County. To complete this project, Family & Community Services has partnered with Summit County Executive, Ilene Shapiro, who first announced the project at the annual state-of-the-county address. Based in Ravenna, Family & Community Services already has a number of programs to serve veterans, including the Harry Donovan Jr. Valor Home in Akron for homeless male veterans. The new housing site, Summit Liberty House, will be a 4-unit apartment building to accommodate homeless female veterans and their families. The Summit Liberty House project will begin with a silent art auction fundraiser, titled “She Served Too” presented by CliftonLarsonAllen. The free event, to be held on September 27 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Akron Civic Theater, will include heavy hors d’oeurves, an open bar and live jazz entertainment.
