Square FAIR @ Square Fest!

New to Square Fest this year is Square Fair, which is a mini county fair competition for the Highland Square / West Hill neighborhoods. Sponsored by the Highland Square Garden Club, the fair celebrates the love of gardening and showcases the private and community gardens in addition to the green spaces the areas have to offer. Participants can enter their fruits, vegetables, herbs, baked and canned goods to display the fruits of their harvest for the community to enjoy and the possibility of winning a prize ribbon. Deadline for application is Wednesday, Sept 9 at 5 p.m. Fee is $3.00 / entry.

The categories for the competition are; produce, flowers, baked goods, canned goods and herbs. The entries will be judged on uniformity, market quality, neatness, freshness, appearance and taste (where applicable). The entries should be grown and/or produced by you and boxed or packaged mixes are not permitted for baked goods.
