The University of Akron Dance Program presents UADC Spring 2018

The School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration presents The University of Akron Dance Company (UADC) Spring 2018 Concert on April 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m. on campus at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall, 198 Hill St. Akron, OH 44325-0501.

This spring’s diverse and dynamic evening of dance is directed by Nick Carlisle, adjunct dance faculty at The University of Akron since 1997. The concert features new choreography by UA full-time dance faculty Kara Stewart and Tom Smith, and the re-staging of the ballet Romanian Rhapsody from the repertoire of Neos Dance Theatre. Also on the evening’s program are two selections of student work by UA dance majors Teresa Catterlin and Stephanie Anderson which premiered in last semester’s Choreographers’ Workshop.

Romanian Rhapsody, commissioned by the Akron Symphony Orchestra in 2017 and choreographed by Neos Dance Theatre artistic director Robert Wesner, is set to the music of George Enesco and will be restaged by Neos company ... view more »
