“Thread & Mud” & “As Potent as a Charm” Opening Reception The BOX Gallery

The BOX Gallery in downtown Akron is hosting two new exhibitions: Thread & Mud, a juried exhibition, featuring local artists who use fiber and clay in their work, and a solo print exhibition by Joan Colbert called As Potent as a Charm.

Both shows will be on display from Dec. 4 – 31, 2015 with an opening reception on Friday, Dec. 4 from  5-8 pm in The  BOX Gallery showrooms on the third floor of Summit Artspace.

“The BOX Gallery is thrilled to be able to host such a great variety of local artists. These shows give us a wonderful opportunity to showcase fine craft and long-standing Akron artists like Joan Colbert,” said BOX Gallery organizer, Nancy Richards-Davis.

Thread & Mud is juried by Michael Martell and Claudia Zeber-Martell of Zeber-Martell Gallery and Clay Studio in downtown Akron.  The Artists of Rubber City is excited to present a sampling of the great fine craft this area has to offer, guided by the expertise of the Martells.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place entries.
