Travel back in time during Vintage Days at Stan Hywet. May 21 includes a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Great War with other partnering agencies. All tours self-guided.

Travel back in time during Vintage Days at Stan Hywet. In the Manor House, friends, business associates and staff members (played by our History First Hand troupe) of the Seiberling family are eager to tell you about life in the early part of the 20th century. Then enjoy a game of vintage “base ball” on the Great Meadow from 1-3pm as our resident team, the Akron Black Stockings, take on the competition.

WORLD WAR I COMMEMORATION, Sunday, May 21, noon-4pm: The United States entered World War I on April 6, 1917 after President Woodrow Wilson asked Congress to declare war on Germany on April 2, 1917. Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Great War: visit with other partnering agencies including Akron-Summit County Public Library, The Summit County Historical Society and The University of Akron to discover more about Akron’s role in WWI, and view artifacts.
