Weekend Workshop: Banish Your ShakesFEAR

Presented by Ohio Shakespeare Festival at Ohio Shakespeare Festival, Greystone Hall, Akron OH

Jan 14 - 15 2017
Weekend Workshop: Banish Your ShakesFEAR

This two day workshop will help actors demystify Shakespeare’s text using much of the John Barton approach to verse, vowels, consonants, and playable actions.

Our talented company members and educators want to share their skills and expertise with the community.  These fun and intensive programs are masterclasses in some of the most exciting elements of theatre. Classes are suitable for all skill levels!

Banish Your ShakesFEAR
January 14 & 15
12:00-3:00 BOTH DAYS

Shakes-fear is a commonplace ailment, but one we can easily remedy! You don’t have to be an actor to enjoy this course. Join Artistic Director Terry Burgler for this workshop that dives into Shakespeare’s words and demystifies some of Will’s most beautiful language.  You’ll  see the “acting clues” hidden in the text, learn how to make iambic pentameter work for you, and explore acting techniques that will make your Shakes-fear disappear.  Ages 12+.
