Akron-Summit County Public Library, Tallmadge Branch

Prior to its new location, the Tallmadge Branch Library opened in a store front in 1961 and moved into a 8700 square foot building located at 32 South Avenue in 1977 in a building owned by the City of Tallmadge that was built for library purposes with funds from the City of Tallmadge income tax at a cost of $332,102.
On October 2, 2000 the current Tallmadge Branch Library opened at 90 Community Rd. next to the Tallmadge Community Center. We are open 6 days a week to meet your needs for education, information and recreation. Current library statistics show that the Tallmadge Branch circulated 276,927 items in 2010, and houses a collection of 78,575 items with 15,160 registered borrowers.
Our friendly, skilled staff includes a branch manager, who is also the young adult librarian, who serves intermediate school age children and teens (grade 4-12), a children’s librarian serving young children (babies through grade three), and an adult services librarian. Our staff also includes public service assistants and student assistants. At Tallmadge Branch Library you can find:

  • The Frank E. Lawrence History of Tallmadge Collection.
  • Reference materials in CD-ROM format.
  • Videotapes, DVDs, Blu-Rays, Playaways, Books on CD, Compact Discs and Cassette Tapes.

  • Newspapers

Hours (Beginning January 2016):
Monday – Thursday: 10 am – 8 pm
Friday: 12 pm – 6 pm
Saturday: 10 am – 5pm
Sunday: Closed
