Lots of you are gonna remember our annual Dylan Night from the old Northside days. Yep it’s the same. A open-mic but of Dylan songs only.

Ididn’t even like Dylan before this event started years ago. Then I had to learn some songs since I was hosting and all of a sudden my ears and mind were opened.

For musicians, here’s how it works: You PREREGISTER to play by messaging me on facebook, and you get a max of 3 songs or 12 mins, whichever is SHORTER. (You can’t do both Hurricane and Desolation Row without me turning your mic off!) “Why do I have to preregister?” you ask… Because this is a no-repeats show. I’ll keep track of what’s being done. Send me what songs you want to do and I’ll give the ok or ask you to sub some out.

We’ll run this from 7:30-11pm. The address is 22 N. High St., Akron, OH

Bands are limited to 5 members unless you email me and let me know why you need more. (Remember, Mo’ Mojo used to have 8 members so I’m probably sympathetic.)

The only rule is to be as creative as you want to be. (OH WAIT – the other rule is to start spreading the word!!!) The first year we ran this Mike Devine came and did Rainy Day Women in suit and tie solo on Ukelele. You can do spoken word. You can rap. You can perform your songs reggae or gypsy jazz style. Whatever you want. I love exciting and different. Add some theater. Or just come play regular like. Whatever you want. Let’s just have some fun!
