William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar

William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar

Presented by Rubber City Theatre at Well Community Development Corporation (CDC)

Rubber City Shakespeare Company is pleased to present William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, directed by distinguished Guest Director, Marshall B Garrett.

Guest Director, Marshall B Garrett brings a modern touch to this time-honored tale. Marshall is a director, teacher and scholar based out of the Baltimore, MD area. Marshall received his MFA in Shakespeare and Performance from Mary Baldwin College and has directed for the Capital Fringe Festival and for educational programs at the American Shakespeare Center. While at Mary Baldwin College, his production of Shakespeare’s War of the Roses was performed, upon invitation, at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

In addition, this show features an all-star cast of talented local actors. Rubber City Shakespeare Company’s own Producing Artistic Director, Dane CT Leasure takes to the stage to play the infamous title character. Actor’s Equity Association Member, Michael Gatto, will be appearing under a Special Appearance Contract to take on the role of Brutus. They are joined by eleven other talented men and women who will bring the story to life in new and engaging ways.

The production opens on Friday, April 7, with Rubber City Shakespeare Company’s traditional Pay-As-You-Like-It performance, in which admission charges are waived thanks to our generous supporters (audiences are encouraged to “pay as you like it” or donate what they can after the show).

Julius Caesar runs through April 23. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances begin at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of a performance on Easter Sunday, there will be a matinee performance on Saturday, April 15, in addition to the evening show.
