Black Box Series Classes are for students who are ready to be challenged!
These classes focus on specific curriculum and elements of the performing arts.

Student requirements: 
• Must be age 10 or older 
• Must have taken at least Weathervane classes 
• Must fill out this short form telling us why you are interested in the class. You can fill out this short application HERE

If approved, you will be emailed a link to register for the class. 

DIRECTING PROJECT 
Saturday 9:00-10:30 a.m. 
Tuition: $185.00

Learn what it’s like to be running the show! In this class, students will learn the principles and practices of being a stage director. Students will cast, stage, rehearse, and present short scenes with the assistance of an experienced instructor.  Students from the class will also gain the benefit of acting in each other’s scenes.  Class is limited to the first 10 students. 

TRIPLE THREAT
Saturday 11:30-1:00 p.m. 
Tuition: $185.00

Become a Triple Threat in this black box class focused on scene study to examine the music, acting, and dance components of different musical productions. Students be able to hone in on each of their musical theatre skills to become a well-rounded musical theatre performer. Class is limited to the first 10 students. 

PLAYWRITING
Saturday 12:15-1:45 p.m. 
Tuition: $185.00

Take what’s on the page and bring it to the stage! Students will discuss plot structure, creating characters, thoughts, themes, and ideas in this hands on playing writing class. Bring your ideas and get creative in this writing workshop! Class is limited to the first 10 students.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT  
Saturday 10:30-12:00 p.m. 
Tuition: $185.00

What does it take to create a character? Students will work with their instructor to examine the many elements that bring a character to life. Students will present their characters through monologue work on the last day of class. Use your imagination and creativity while becoming a stronger performer. Class is limited to the first 10 students.
