AGAINST THE SKY LANDSCAPE ART JURIED EXHIBITION
Deadline to submit is midnight, Sept. 17, 2018.
Show is Oct. 19-Nov. 17, 2018 at Summit Artspace on East Market, 140 E. Market St., Akron, Ohio.
Landscapes and the related genres of cityscapes, seascapes and nightscapes are delineated by boundaries, the most dominant being the sky or other overlay bearing downward. This exhibition challenges artists to translate for the viewer the line and its confluence that separate sky from land as well as evoking geography, architecture, community and nature. Accepting landscapes in works in 2D and 3D across all mediums, including digital formats. The exhibition is open to artists residing in or attending school in Summit, Cuyahoga, Medina, Stark and Portage counties. Read the submission page for all pertinent details.

In this virtual workshop, Rob Greer, Tyron Hoisten, and Elizabeth Tipton will discuss why representation matters in advertising and content creation, drawing on their recent experience participating in ArtsNow’s SEEN initiative. This panel will be moderated by a member of the Arts & Culture Inclusion Council.
