Applications are now being accepted on-line here for Tuesday Musical’s 2019 Scholarship Competition. Applications close February 1, 2019.

Additional information is also available on-line — including UPDATED application and repertoire requirements.

Open to eligible college students pursuing careers as music performers and/or music educators, the 2019 competition is Saturday, March 23, in Guzzetta Hall at The University of Akron. The Organ Category competition will take place the same day at First Congregational Church in Akron.

18 Performance Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 will be awarded in these categories:

  • Brass
  • Classical Guitar
  • Marimba/Classical Steel Pan
  • Organ
  • Piano
  • Strings
  • Voice
  • Woodwinds

2 Music Education Scholarships of $1,400 each will be awarded:

Sponsored by the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs, these scholarships will be awarded to the Music Education applicants with the highest evaluations and auditions.
Plus, the top performance winners will be invited to compete again on May 19, 2019, for 2 special Arden J. Yockey Scholarships for Performance:

1st prize is $2,000, 2nd prize is $1,000

Since 1955, Tuesday Musical has awarded more than 550 scholarships to talented students.
