SUMMARY
The Community Engagement Program Assistant will be a key part of the Learning & Engagement department and will make a significant contribution to the Akron Art Museum’s community engagement touch points, programs, and initiatives on-site and off-site. Reports to Community Engagement Leads and Director of Learning & Engagement. Works closely with Community Engagement Leads, Educators of Youth and Family Programming, and Gallery Teachers
In conjunction with funding from Art Bridges and alongside Community Engagement team members, the Community Engagement Program Assistant will engage with the public through off-site “Art Connects” programming, on-site community-based events, and programs, and will assist with other projects within the Learning & Engagement Department as needs arise. Strong public speaking skills, experience working with children and demonstrated interest in art or education are preferred.
Summit Artspace is interested in the many ways in which BIPOC+ artists impact our communities through their art. One artist will be selected to receive a $1,000 stipend to support the creation of a solo exhibition in Summit Artspace’s Horizon Gallery. Click here to apply.
