Ralphie – (9-12) Obsessed with planting the seeds to assure the ultimate Christmas present: a genuine Red Ryder BB gun. Has a wild imagination, is unsure of his feelings for Esther Jane, and is persistent, curious, and dramatic.
Flick – (9-12, any race/ethnicity) One of Ralphie’s best friends. A follower who is easy to pick on. Can’t resist the triple dog dare and gets his tongue stuck to a lamppost. Has a sore arm. Also plays a Desperado.
Schwartz – (9-12, any race/ethnicity) Another of Ralphie’s buddies. He likes trouble. He’s a little more on the ball than Flick and gets him to do things he probably shouldn’t. Also plays a Desperado.
Esther Jane –(9-12, any race/ethnicity) Has a crush on Ralphie. Sweet, girly and likeable. Best friends with Helen.
Helen – (9-12, any race/ethnicity) Smartest girl in class. Likes to talk politics and gossip. Best friends with Esther Jane.
Randy – (7-10) Ralphie’s mischievous little brother who has a true fascination with Santa. Has to use the restroom at inopportune times. Ability to focus and to be still a plus.
