JOB SUMMARY
The Marketing Coordinator and Gallery Assistant is a highly organized and motivated individual with a passion for art and the Cleveland arts community. Primary responsibilities include designing and implementing marketing efforts for the gallery, along with assisting gallery staff with various projects. You will serve as the initial point of contact for the gallery, so strong communication skills and a personable nature are among the important attributes needed to be successful in this position. RESPONSIBILITIES
– manage gallery website and social media accounts
– design and implement successful marketing campaigns (email & social media)
– identify and execute new ways to promote artists, artworks, exhibitions, services, etc.
– design/produce promotional materials for exhibitions
– assist gallery managers in planning of exhibitions
– maintain inventory of 2000+ artworks
– serve as the liaison between the gallery and our 100+ represented artists
– writing duties include press releases, articles, website copy, social media posts, emails
– assist gallery staff with various projects as needed
– general office duties (i.e. answering phones, greeting guests, ordering supplies)
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s Degree in an art-related field preferred (i.e. Arts Administration, Art History)
– proficient in Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator
– proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
– basic photography and photo editing skills
– excellent writing skills and communication skills (in person, via email, and via phone) – capable of handling artwork and frames
PREFERRED SKILLS
– video/film experience
– art installation
– general IT knowledge
– basic knowledge of social media management systems (i.e. later.com, Hootsuite)
LOCATION & COMMITMENTS
– Bonfoey Gallery is located on Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland, just a block away from Playhouse Square
– this is a full-time, in-person position
