Throughout history artists have shared their responses to events through their medium. By all accounts, the inauguration of Donald Trump was historic. Following that, his administration’s actions have been unprecedented. His supporters continue to support him and his detractors continue to object.

Join the voice that will be heard on President Trump’s 100th day in office.  The First 100 Days: Artists Respond is a nationwide initiative encouraging artists to reflect on what is happening in the world using their art. Artwork from “both sides of the aisle” is welcome and should be created since January 20, 2017.

Locally, Expressive Journey: The First 100 Days Artists Respond will be held at Nine Muses Art Gallery (ninemusesart.com) in Barberton, OH. Artists from Barberton and adjacent areas (Akron, Norton, Portage Lakes, and New Franklin) are invited to participate. The entire gallery will be devoted to this exhibit. Space is available for hanging wall art only. The end of the first 100 days on April 29 coincides with Barberton’s Arts and Entertainment District’s Fourth Friday event held on April 28th. Expressive Journey can be viewed at Nine Muses Gallery through June 10.

For more information, see guidelines on Facebook at Expressive Journey: Barberton Artists Respond to the Presidency, email hope.44203@gmail.com, or 330/618-9284. This event is sponsored by H.O.P.E. (Hope, Opportunity, Peace, Equality) in cooperation with Summit Artspace.
