Looking for unique talent for the Masque of the Red Death Masquerade Ball at the Akron Civic Theatre

Saturday, October 29, 2016 @ 8 PM.
Now in its eighth year, The Masque of the Red Death is Akron’s premier Halloween event for adults.

Be among the hundreds of souls who’ll celebrate deep into the night at a most macabre, artfully elegant, daring, dramatic and decadent Halloween masquerade party at the historic and haunted Akron Civic Theatre. This party is a reenactment of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story – The Masque of the Red Death. Guests are transported to a time of intrigue and suspense. We are looking for unique talent that can fit into the scene of the party, such as: jugglers, magicians, contortionists, dancers, painters and any other fantastical performers.

About the party:
The party begins when the clock strikes eight on Saturday, October 29, 2016, until the stroke of one
Guests must be 21 years of age and over
Arrive using the entrance under the Civic marquee on Main Street.

Reserve your ticket in advance, plan your disguise, join the dance.
$75 admission includes beer, wine and signature beverage with delectable light hors d’oeuvres and inclusive full bar service.

The Masquerade is a voluptuous scene where costumes, masques and disguises are in vogue. Dress the part – ELEGANT ATTIRE IS REQUIRED, you are a guest of Prince Prospero so dress the part! For more about costumes, follow the Costumes link.

The scene is luscious glitter and glare, wine and ale and savory fare. Music, dancing, fortunes, readings, performances and guests intriguing all will fill the hours of the night, while through it all you’ll find delight. Stroll gypsy trails, peruse the scene-beauty, beast, and in-between. The Masque features paranormal readings, performances, live music and an interactive game in addition to spontaneous artistic happenings throughout the night.
