Summit Food Policy Coalition Logo, Branding and Collateral Development Request for Proposals

Background
The vision of Summit Food Policy Coalition is to establish Summit County as a home to an economically vibrant, local and regional food industry where all residents are able to obtain and prepare nutritious food.

Summit Food Policy Coalition was established in 2009 by three organizations who frequently cooperated on food and agricultural projects. Over time, multiple organizations and individuals have joined forces with the Coalition, contributing expertise and ideas on key issues facing the agriculture sector, as well as community members related to food access and education.

Following a community assessment in 2014, Akron Community Foundation provided funding for strategic planning efforts for Summit Food Policy Coalition resulting in a succinct strategic plan and funding to support the efforts of the organization moving forward.

The four focus areas of Summit Food Policy Coalition are:

Access
Build a system that provides year-round, affordable, nutritious food which is accessible to every resident

Education
Create a culture of healthy eating

Food Economy
Support the development of a network of local food entrepreneurs

Policy
Establish policies that support access to healthy local food, sustainable land use, and neighborhood and economic development

Objective
Summit Food Policy Coalition is seeking logo design and branding services which will help create a consistent and recognizable look and message for the organization. The logo should communicate our collaborative, systems-changing nature, and our ability to connect people with the information they need to access healthful and local food.
Scope of Work

Logo design
Limited collateral development: letterhead, business cards, e-news design
Branding guidelines for use in future website and collateral development
Requirements for Proposals

Summit FPC Steering Committee is seeking a brief proposal describing the timeline and process for logo, branding, and collateral development. We are also open to suggestions from the proposers as to how the scope of work may be modified so as to more effectively accomplish the objectives of the project.

We expect that the proposal will include:

1. A description of the process that will be used to complete the work, including any suggestions for modifications or additions to the proposed scope. (How many face to face meetings are necessary with the board, etc.)
2. A firm, not-to-exceed cost proposal for the proposed work.
3. A schedule describing the sequence and timing of the work.
4. At least three examples of similar work, with contact information for references. 5. Any other information that the proposer believes will be helpful in evaluating the proposal.

Summit Food Policy Coalition has a budget of $1000 for this project. Proposals must be submitted electronically to Beth Knorr, Director of Summit Food Policy Coalition no later than 4pm on Wednesday, June 15. The Summit Food Policy Coalition Steering Committee will select a proposal to perform the work based upon the Committee’s judgment of the best proposal, and reserves the right to withdraw this RFP at any time prior to the signing of a contract.
