Calling  All Young Dancers! Professional Development Day for Dancers 2016 will teach students and parents everything they need to know in order to pursue a career in the field of dance! September 10, 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.  at The Cleveland State University Middough Building. Presented by DANCECleveland in cooperation with Cleveland State University Dept. of Theatre and Dance, this full day professional development seminar is designed for dance students ages 12-18 & their parents or guardians. Each student registered must have one adult present. The day is designed to provide information from current professionals in various dance fields, help to answer questions about different career options for dancers, steps to take in high school, resume building for dance, audition information and much more! (Lunch will be provided) Fee for a student/parent pair is only $55 total. To Register, call 216-991-9000.

The day will begin with two dance master classes from Bobby Wesner of Neos Dance Theatre, and David Shimotakahara of GroundWorks DanceTheater.

Multiple panel discussions will cover topics such as:

• Ways to prepare for a career in dance while in high school
• How to create a dance resume and audition portfolio
• Career options in dance... on and off the stage
• Steps to take when considering a dance degree or career
• What life is like in a professional dance company

Q&A sessions with dance company Artistic Directors & College Dance Directors, Resource guides and more info from professionals in the field from Inlet Dance Theatre, Duffy Liturgical Dance Ensemble, GroundWorks DanceTheatre, The University of Akron School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration, Cleveland State University, Kent State University School of Theatre and Dance, Cleveland School of the Arts, Relevation Physical Therapy & Wellness, Neos Dance Theatre, The Dancing Wheels Company & School, and more!
