OVERVIEW

A full-time position with the expectation of 40 hours per week, the Director of Finance will have responsibilities including bookkeeping, grant budget preparation and reporting, and donor management. The Director of Finance will report directly to and partner closely with the Executive Director to advance ArtsNow’s future growth and ensure financial best practices are identified and incorporated. This position will require someone who can work remotely and in the office. This position will be required to use Quickbooks Online, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the current donor management system, CharityProud.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform and maintain the following accounting functions: payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash receipts, general ledger, grant financial management, gift management, financial reporting and compliance, and investment accounting.
File the payroll taxes and annual tax reporting of W-2's.
Track 1099 vendor payments and file the annual 1099's.
Assist with grant budgets, track grant spending once the grant is received, and file the final grant spending reports.
Direct the fulfillment, establishment and documentation of accounting policies and procedures, as required, and exercise policy direction over the conduct of accounting operations throughout ArtsNow.
Advise and ensure sound cash management and supervision of all bank accounts, including checking and endowment.
Develop procedures to ensure all assets and liabilities of the organization are properly and accurately recorded and are reconciled to supporting internal and independent documentation.
Develop systems to safeguard funds including payroll disbursements, general operating disbursements, receivables, travel and entertainment reimbursements, and cash receipts.
Manage and coordinate, as necessary, the conduct of audits of the organization’s records by independent certified public accountants or any other organization, as required.
Manage and coordinate the preparation of the organization’s Form 990 and related tax and information returns.
Manage and supervise the development, implementation and support for evaluation and selection of computerized general ledger, financial accounting and financial reporting systems.
Implement, maintain, and monitor the total financial accounting systems and the internal controls over ArtsNow’s financial assets and records, insuring all internal, external, and legal requirements are met.
Lead annual organization-wide operating budget preparation for each program for approval by the Finance and Executive Committees as well as the Board of Trustees
Work with Treasurer to develop and propose an annual budget for board approval.
Provide and interpret monthly financial reports—including dashboards, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses.

QUALIFICATIONS

Five years of nonprofit and Quickbook experience.
Demonstrated experience with nonprofit financial management
Ability to work with Quickbooks Online
Bachelor Degree preferred

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary is $55,000-$62,000 dependent on experience
