The Director of Programs role focuses on the day to day creation, operations, and
management of Art Possible Ohio’s public facing programs.

Art Possible Ohio Mission: Art Possible Ohio is the statewide service organization on
the arts and disability. We work with artists of all ages who have disabilities to make arts
and cultural experiences more accessible and inclusive. Together we make art possible.
All programs, program operation, and marketing are created to adhere to the mission
and values of Art Possible Ohio. The Director of Programs role will also follow
accessibility best practices in the implementation of programs to best serve the Art
Possible audience. This position will also contribute to overall operations of the
organization, including marketing, newsletter production, and daily office management
such as checking general email, mail, and voicemail.

Hybrid Duties: Many administrative duties can be performed virtually. In person-duties
are expected for some programs. They are earmarked in the denoted below as “IP” and
can be found at the end of each bullet-point.
Laptop and printer will be provided.

Art Possible Ohio Programs and Associated Duties include:
● Accessible Expressions Ohio (AEO): A traveling, statewide adjudicated art
exhibit featuring artwork by artists with disabilities
○ Development of Call for Art and Call for Host Sites
○ Entry process and management of works
○ Adjudication oversite
○ Acquisition & return of artwork (IP)
○ In some cases, but not all, art installation at host sites around Ohio (IP)

● Day of Arts for All: Accessible Expressions Ohio exhibit opening and day of
events centering art and disability
○ In conjunction with the Executive Director, facilitate planning of programs
and awards ceremony at AEO opening (IP)

● ReelAbilities Film Festival Columbus: An annual film festival highlighting,
celebrating, and normalizing disability in the film industry
○ Serve on ReelAbilities national committee
○ Review and selection of films
○ Contract with film site for screenings
○ Development of integrated programs to complement film screenings
○ On-site contact for film screenings and programs (IP)

● Careers in the Arts: Professional Development training for artists
○ Create virtual and in-person workshops and speaker series to support
artists with disabilities (Some virtual, some IP)

● Cultural Access Trainings: Professional development trainings for cultural
organizations
○ In conjunction with the Executive Director, provide access-based trainings
to nonprofit organizations (Some virtual, some IP)

● ADAP Grant Technical Support: Artists with Disabilities Access Program, a grant
of the Ohio Arts Council
○ Split duties with Executive Director, assisting grant applicants with the
grant application

Preferred qualifications:
● Previous experience in art education or nonprofit program development and
implementation
● Proficient in technology as a management tool. Experience with Google Suite,
Canva, Hootsuite, MailChimp, WordPress, and Microsoft Word Suite is a plus
● Strong project management skills managing multifaceted projects resulting in
measurable successes and program growth
● Experience having worked collaboratively with peers, organizations, and other
public entities
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to
details
● Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for
Art Possible Ohio’s mission
● Marketing, social media, and newsletter production experience a plus
