Location: Main Library Events Department
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours), including evenings and weekend hours (see below)
Salary: Grade 8, $15.74/hour
Performs a variety of duties related to the Library’s coordination of special events and the use of its facilities for meetings and programs, including the development, planning, scheduling and implementation of programs and special events; monitoring events; assisting in providing audio-visual support, including setting up, operating, and removing audiovisual equipment/technology in the Auditorium, meeting rooms, and other spaces as required; maintaining all Auditorium technical boards and equipment; maintaining inventory; and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices in the field of event planning; effective record-keeping techniques; demonstrated ability to think, work and make decisions independently with attention to detail and accuracy; ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and customers; organizational skills, including ability to juggle multiple priorities; demonstrated creative ability with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to follow written and verbal direction. Ability to lift, move, set up and take down tables/chairs weighing up to 60 lbs. Previous customer service experience, proficiency in the use of AV equipment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Completion of two years of college required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Must be available to work a flexible schedule Monday – Sunday including hours beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 11:00 p.m.
