Summit Artspace, located at 140 E. Market Street in downtown Akron, houses a gallery, artist studios, a business center for arts organizations, and event/performance spaces. Summit Artspace is joint project of the Akron Area Arts Alliance and The County of Summit.
Summit Artspace is seeking a creative and collaborative manager to coordinate, plan and install art exhibitions in traditional gallery settings and other areas throughout Summit Artspace. The Exhibitions Manager will help implement strategic initiatives that showcase quality community art and expand collaborative opportunities with local and regional artists and arts partners. The Exhibitions Manager will see beyond the traditional gallery setting and strategize ways to transform all of Summit Artspace into a creative space to display, promote and sell a wide variety of community art.

Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Three to five years of experience in program or events planning, education or related field, preferably with a nonprofit organization. Experience working with volunteers highly desirable. Must have track record of success in presenting visual arts exhibitions.
Job Requirements: Must hold valid driver’s license and must pass pre-employment background check. This is a part-time position that requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary. Minimal travel required.
Salary: $15.00 per hour
