Hot Shop Manager Christian James

We are looking for a friendly and motivated glass artist that likes to work with the public and is a team player. The primary position is workshop instruction, with additional duties including the production of gallery items, hot shop maintenance, and some retail.

Must have 2-3+ years of experience working in hot glass workshop instruction.

Must be able to make a variety of basic blown and solid objects: pumpkins, ornaments, flowers, cups, etc.

Must be able to work every Wednesday and Thursday 12 – 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday 9 am – 5 pm.

Start in mid-August

AGW was founded in 2006. We are a high-energy, inclusive, friendly, and positive place to work. We are located in a 3000 square foot studio/gallery on the lower level of an old stone church. We have 3 glory holes and 2 Electroglass furnaces that utilize Spruce Pine batch glass. We have separate studios dedicated to glass fusing, flame working, and stained glass (this position is for hot glass only). We host glassblowing workshops every weekend and Wednesday afternoons. We also have private party workshops in the evenings, demos, and special events.

Salary: Average hourly rate is $22 +  (hourly rate plus compensation for each workshop student taught)
