The Greater Akron Chamber is seeking nominations for their second annual awards program to recognize member businesses in Summit County for their support of arts and culture. The award will be presented in collaboration with ArtsNow, a nonprofit focused on connecting arts, culture and community in Summit County.

ArtsNow, a nonprofit organization with the mission of advancing arts and culture in Summit County, launched a countywide, interactive website, SummitLive365, last year that features arts and culture happenings.

“We know that the arts are important to our mission of attracting and retaining the best talent in Greater Akron,” said Rebecca Guzy Woodford, Senior Vice President of the Chamber. “This award allows us the opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of our business community and hopefully inspire other businesses to see how arts and culture can be part of their daily work.” Nominations are welcome from all Greater Akron Chamber members, and self-nominations are permitted, said Guzy. Nominations should include a description of how the business has proven to be an advocate and champion for arts and culture in Summit County.

A nomination form may be obtained from the Chamber, and submissions are due by Friday, December 9, 2016.

A task force will judge submissions for the award. The award will be presented at the Chamber’s Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Firestone Country Club.
