JOB TITLE: LIBRARY SHOP COORDINATOR
LOCATION: Akron-Summit County Public Library- Main Library
60 S. High St., Akron, OH 44326
HOURS:Part-time (15 hours per week) occasional evenings and weekend hours;
SALARY:$9.50 per hour with parking costs paid by the LSAM
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees the day-to-day operation of the Library Shop at Main (LSAM) under the advisement of the Library Shop at Main Committee. Work includes, but is not limited to: recruiting, training and directing the work of the LSAM volunteers and handling customer service issues. As needed, brings books and other used items to the Shop for restocking. Maintains new merchandise product displays, restocking as needed. Maintains LSAM display cases. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with LSAM volunteers and the Friends of Main Library. Must operate a personal/laptop computer, and Point of Sale (POS) system. Makes bank deposits and assures that there is sufficient cash for daily LSAM operation. Work schedule is flexible; however, at least 3 days each week required.
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABI
LITIES: Computer skills including MS Office; retailing principles and practices; excellent customer relation skills including experience with difficult customers; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to maintain accurate records and attention to detail; demonstrated creative ability; demonstrated decision-
making skills; demonstrated organization skills. Previous experience in a retail environment required, preferably in a bookstore.
