The Coordinator of Volunteers manages volunteer resources to assist in the delivery of Weathervane's productions, programs and special events. This includes directly managing volunteers, and/or providing guidance, support, resources and tools to staff who supervise volunteers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruiting, managing and orienting
Recruit new volunteers.
Maintain positive relationships with existing volunteers.
Respond to any inquiries from prospective volunteers.
Familiarize volunteers with Weathervane's productions, programs and role in the community to increase their understanding of the organization.
Support the staff in working effectively and cooperatively with volunteers.

ADMINISTRATION
Maintain, or help maintain the volunteer database.
Along with staff, assess the need for volunteers to enhance production and program quality.
Identify volunteer assignments that provide meaningful work for volunteers.
Utilize and work with the Weathervane Volunteer Guild to promote volunteer opportunities.
Follow up with new volunteers with audition information and/or job placement.
Assist the Artistic Director with scheduling and/or communicating information about production meetings, post-mortem meetings, double-tech day meals (in coordination with the Volunteer Guild) and end-of-show "strike."

TRAINING
Schedule, coordinate and/or conduct training for new volunteers.
Identify volunteer skills that Weathervane needs/can utilize.

SCHEDULING
For each performance, develop the volunteer schedule and calendar for front-of-house and backstage volunteers.
Create SignUpGenius pages for volunteer opportunities.
Recruit volunteers to fill schedules via e-mail, phone calls, etc.
Provide reminder e-mails/calls to volunteers regarding their schedule a few days in advance. (E-mails are scheduled through SignUpGenius.)

COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS
Coordinate complimentary tickets for volunteers with the box office.

STATUS
Part-time

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience preferred in organization of volunteers and outreach
Excellent communication skills
Strong computer and Internet skills
Strong computer and technical skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, phones, etc.)
Experience managing or supervising people is an asset
