We are aware that COVID-19 is affecting the scheduling of events and other gatherings throughout our community. As we all work together to respond to this crisis, we understand that many events on this site may not yet be updated with the most current closure information. We encourage you to check with event organizers and venues regarding the status of any event you are looking to attend. Thank you.
Wayne Center for the Arts offers multiple teaching assignments at the Walnut Street School location, as well as outreach teaching opportunities throughout the community. We are continually looking for educators who are enthusiastic about art to join our team and teach visual art classes for preschool and elementary age students as well as adults.
Candidates that love teaching and are responsible, reliable, and flexible are encouraged to apply. Good organization and classroom management skills are required. Familiarity with the Ohio Department of Education 2012 Visual Art Standards is helpful and at a BA in art education, studio art, performing art, or similar field is preferred.
Teaching artists interested in independent contracting for instruction of any medium of visual, performing, or literary art form can apply via the contact info below. We are now planning for class offerings in summer 2019, beginning in June. Inquiries should include lesson plans for either multi week class sessions or day workshops. You can refer to our most recent course catalog for examples of the types and lengths of classes we currently offer.
