SPACES is seeking individuals who are creative, interested in the arts, and looking to participate in the day-to-day operations of a contemporary art organization.

This is the perfect 6-month experience for those who are in school, just out of school, or trying to build up their resume. Interns will gain insight into the step-by-step process of art programming, including working with local, national, and international artists.

Interns are expected to work 15-20 hours per week and are paid $9/hr. All applicants must be at least 18 years old.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR APPLICANTS WHO ARE:

  • Friendly and helpful
  • Knowledgeable of or willing to learn basic painting and hand-tool functions
  • Able to work well with others
  • Comfortable with answering phone calls
  • Comfortable with basic computer functions
  • Willing to learn

SPACES IS COMMITTED TO DIVERSITY

Art has the potential to catalyze difficult conversations, ask important questions about cultural representation, and provide a site for interrogating power dynamics and centering marginalized voices. SPACES is exploring new ways to engage with our local student population to diversify representation of culture, race, ethnicity, socio-economic class, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, and disability in our daily operations. We hope to create more opportunities for students who have been historically underrepresented in the arts and to consider the ways we can move beyond the bounds of the traditional art organization to support the wealth of visual arts already taking place in and around Cleveland.
